The Swift Canoes Prospector 14 solo open canoe is a very traditional canoe. With a rounded chine and bags of tumble home this lightweight solo canoes is a versatile boat with a good weight capacity. The higher weight capacity can allow taller larger paddlers to fit in and feel comfortable in a lightweight solo canoe, sometimes even with capacity left over for using the Prospector 14 for an extended trip. As a platform it is ideal for paddlers looking to fish or do some photography/videography which extends the canoes versatility even further. At only 14ft this solo canoe is not one of the longest but it still tracks through the water really well, especially if you have some tripping style gear in the canoe. The Prospector 14 can also be paddled with a kayak paddle in a 'Pack Boat' style, while you would require a slightly longer kayak paddle for ease of getting the blade to the water, this is a great option for paddlers looking to either cover more distance or looking to paddle in all weathers when sometimes the conditions dictate you just need more drive from the paddle and this seating position is still very comfortable. The Prospector 14 like all UK spec'd Swift Canoes is constructed of Swift Canoes most popular laminate material Kevlar Fusion which offers their best strength to weight ratio while making the Prospector 14 canoe ultra lightweight at only 13.1kgs. A urethane resin system which has been designed for top durability as well as longevity, with a thin exterior gel coat layer makes up the basis of Kevlar Fusion. An exterior layer of polyester with S-Glass and kevlar cloth layering sandwiching the foam core ribbed system finishes off the Kevlar Fusions laminate. This laminate fused with high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin system, which is then injected during a high pressure infusion process produces the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency.

Spec'd with Swift Canoes Carbon Kevlar trim as standard the Prospector 14 is a joy to portage. This trim not only looks fantastic when coupled with the superbly comfortable Cherry wood contoured canoe seat, thwarts & carry handles but is also a key factor in keeping these canoes ultra lightweight. Swift bond the trim and hull by using their unique process to infuse the hull and gunwales as one part, which makes for an ultra lightweight, strong & maintenance free solo open canoe.
