Rope Cleat for Kayaks

A zig zag cleat is an easy way to lock off your anchoring line on a kayak. Simply install within easy reach of your seat and above the waterline of the kayak. Pass the anchoring line through the teeth of the cleat in a zig zag pattern to lock the line in place. Zig Zag cleat can be used for both anchor trolley line and the anchoring line itself - just pass one cord through the cleat in one zig zag pattern, and the other line in the opposite zig zag pattern.

We recommend using strong fixings to install a Zig Zag Cleat. If you can access the rear of the installation area then it is best to use stainless bolts with washers and nylock nuts. If you are unable to access the inside of the area, use Trifold Rivets as the next best option. Please note: many pop rivet tools are a little too wide to push between the teeth of the cleat. The cleat will flex a little so sometimes with a good push you can get the rivet tool nozzle in between the teeth to contact and install a trifold rivet. Failing this, Well Nuts can be used.
