High Capacity, Tough, Triple-Layer Open Canoe
The Old Town Discovery 169 is the larger version of the Discovery 158 Canoe, and the longest in the Discovery series. It is suitable for those looking for a recreational canoe built for long distance trips and with a larger weight capacity. There's plenty of storage space as well as room for children to ride along with their parents. The Discovery 169 canoe is built for all-round canoeing on lakes, slow moving rivers, canals, lochs and more... It is a popular model with families due to its wide, stable, yet manoeuvrable hull.
With it's large usable weight capacity, even when the Discovery 169 if fully loaded, it will still paddle efficiently. The Disco 169 is an excellent tandem canoe, and continues to be a preferred choice for families. Manufactured in the USA, Old Town Canoes are renowned for their high quality build, and tough construction that stands the test of time. The Old Town Discovery range has been in production for in excess of 30 years, which really says it all!
The Old Town Discovery 169 Canoe is outfitted as standard with comfortable wood/webbed seats, tough vinyl gunwales, bow/stern built-in carry handles, and 2x ash varnished thwarts. We also offer the Discovery 169 Outfitter model which uses heavy duty plastic seats which are popular for commercial operators.
