The Swift Canoes Prospector 15 - Kevlar Fusion is among the lightest open canoes on the market and this Prospector 15 is one of the biggest selling lightweight canoes out there. The well loved Prospector shaped canoe is found in most manufacturers ranges however Swift have given their Prospector 15 some additional detailing to make it handle even better on the water. Cleaner lines gives Swift the ability to bring the tumblehome right to the top of the canoes freeboard, this allows the paddlers to keep a tighter paddle stroke elevating the feeling of having to reach over the side of the canoe to get to the water. A more rounded hull in the lower chine area enables a feeling of more stability when the canoe is under load and helps any choppy water to dissipate under the hull. Swift Canoes also smoothed the sides of the bow and stern of the canoe to give a better glide and smoother feel when cutting through the water.

Available in 2 specs the standard Prospector 15 comes with a fixed cherry carrying yoke and 2 cherry wood webbed contoured seats, including a versa bow seat. The versa bow seat allows for the symmetrical hull shape to be fully utilised and allows for the canoe to be paddled backwards when solo paddling. The Versa bow seat has been created by adding an additional webbing strip to the depth of the seat and rolling the rear edge of the seat like the front edge. In doing this it has allowed Swift to give the paddler a more comfortable seating position that is slightly closer to the middle of the canoe, offering the solo paddler an easier trim.

The 2nd spec option is the Combi version, this comes with a detachable centre carrying yoke along with a removable centre seat. This centre seat is quick and simple to remove using push button front pinch clips and magnets to the rear of the seat. With the addition of the detachable centre seat and the removable yoke taken off, you have a 3 seater Swift Canoes Prospector 15. This is ideal for taking out a small family getting 2 adults and a child in the canoe with ease, or if you are paddling solo you can use the middle seat as a best trim option which works perfectly if you are a lightweight paddler.

Both specs of Swift Canoes Prospector 15 are constructed of Swifts Kevlar Fusion material which offers the best strength to weight ratio and makes these canoes ultra lightweight. A urethane resin system which has been designed for top durability as well as longevity, with a thin exterior gel coat layer makes up the basis of Kevlar Fusion. An exterior layer of polyester with S-Glass and Kevlar cloth layering sandwiching the foam core ribbed system finishes off the Kelvar Fusions laminate. This laminate fused with high impact, flexible urethane acrylate resin system, which is then injected during a high pressure infusion process produces the optimal dispersion and laminate consistency.

UK spec'd Swift Canoes all come with a Carbon Kevlar trim as standard. This not only looks great when coupled with the Cherry wood contoured interior seats, yoke and carry handles but also keeps the weight ultra light. Swift bond the trim and hull by using their unique process to infuse the hull and gunwales as one part, which makes for a super lightweight maintenance free open canoe.
