The Old Town Penobscot 164 Canoe is designed for touring and based on heritage designs of the Penobscot Indigenous Americans. It works equally well as a Tripper and for multi-day expeditions. The bow and stern have a steep almost plumb angle for improved tracking and the Shallow Arch hull with a slight rocker which provide great stability and at 16ft 4in it feel quite a nimble canoe. The Old Town Penobscot 164 is an ideal canoe for touring inland waters such as lakes, canals, lochs as well as sheltered estuaries.
The Penobscot 164 Canoe boasts a usable carrying capacity of 532.98kg, which as a two person build offers plenty of storage space for extended weekend or week long canoeing trips. The Penobscot 164 Canoe is built using Old Town's renowned triple layer polyethylene construction, which offers excellent rigidity, durability, and great abrasion resistance.
The Old Town Penobscot 164 Canoe is supplied as standard with two wood/webbed seats, aluminium gunwales, carry handles, an ash carrying yoke, and ash thwart. The Penobscot 164 canoe is also available to order in both Red and Green colour options.
