Old Town Penobscot 174
£1199.00 — £1699.00
High Capacity, Sleek & Efficient 17ft Expedition Canoe
The Old Town Penobscot 174 is designed for touring, tripping & expedition paddling, and is based on heritage designs of the Penobscot Indigenous Americans. The bow and stern have a steep almost plumb angle for improved tracking and the Shallow Arch hull shape with its slight rocker provide great stability and make the Penobscot an ideal canoe for touring inland waters such as lakes, canals, lochs as well as some sheltered estuaries.
The Penobscot 174 measures 17ft 4", and is one of the most popular family canoes due to its size and stability. As a two person open canoe there is plenty of storage space for extended canoeing trips or you could add additional seats in this space if you wanted to take a couple more passengers along with you.
The Old Town Penobscot 174 Canoe is supplied as standard with two wood/webbed seats, aluminium gunwales, carry handles, an ash carrying yoke, and ash thwart. The Penobscot 174 canoe is also available to order in both Red and Green colour options.
Canoeists looking for all the benefits of the Penobscot design, in a smaller, slightly lighter and more manageable size, should also consider the Old Town Penobscot 164 Canoe.
